We recently had a patient who was having such a good time running around outside he accidentally ran into a metal drag. He was stuck. A piece of metal had punctured the skin right under his front leg. Luckily his owners had some heavy duty wire clippers and were able to free him from the drag but a piece of metal was still stuck. They brought him to the clinic and we sedated him. Once he was relaxed the piece came right out. Fortunately the metal was just under the skin and did not harm any vital areas of the body. We flushed the wound and with a course of antibiotics it healed up just fine. Here are some photos:
